Ella (finally) met Dr. B on her 5th week birthday.
This was also her first car ride (other than coming home from the hospital) and she did fantastic!
Ava helped get her ready with her giraffe lovies.
When I took her out of her carrier, she already knew what was about to happen...
She weighed 4 lbs. 15 oz, which is a 5 oz gain from her 1 month weight.
Ava was a great big sister during the whole appointment and was very patient!
We had a follow-up for her too from ear and sinus infections...she is all clear!
Always helping her baby :)
Dr. B was very pleased and impressed with Ella's development.
He said she looks like and is acting more like a newborn baby rather than a preemie baby.
At the time of the apt, she was drinking 2 oz every 3 hours. We have been supplementing NeoSure preemie formula to give her extra calories/weight twice a day, and it seems to be working! He asked us to come back in a week for a weight check.
On the way out, Ava picked out an Ariel sticker for herself and a purple dinosaur for Ella.
It's a hard job being this cute!
We went for our 2nd visit to the pediatricians office 6 days later.
The formula is working...Ella gained 8 oz in 6 days and now weighs 5 lbs 7 oz!
It only took her one visit to get comfortable with Dr. B...she was awake, calm, and chatting away during her exam.
All done and ready to get another sticker. :)
We are not ordered to have another visit until she turns 2 months old.
