On our 10 month anniversary, after a sweaty night of softball, and a greasy Whataburger dinner, Pete asked me to be his wife!
When we got home, my in-laws surprised us with balloons, champagne and their wedding champagne glasses from THEIR WEDDING!
Misty and Adam hosted an engagement party for us a week later.
Lindsay came over the very next morning and snapped a few quick pics of the rock!
Why am I wearing an MGE shirt if I KNEW she was coming over?!
During September, Lindsay took our Engagement pictures in TelFair.
Okay...so why Whataburger?!
Pete and I met at RPC and had mutual friends that we would hang out with but we never had a true one-on-one date. Until one late Tuesday night after his softball game, he asked me to go eat with him at the nearby whataburger. Of course I said YES!
We sat in a corner booth and talked for, literally, hours! Nicki even called to check on me...at midnight...wondering why I hadn't come home yet.
So since that September night, we were smitten with each other.
Then we started going to Whataburger after softball, at least once a month, and sit in the same booth and enjoy an hour of each others company, with out Colin tugging on our heals.
Our 10 month anniversary (August 4, 2009) just happened to be on a Tuesday night. So naturally, we went to softball and then onto Whataburger. I had NO IDEA he was going to propose that night! NONE!
The whole dinner (and during his game) he was acting a little weird. I noticed he was smiling a lot and he just said he was happy. Then, he walked me to my car and opened my door for me...which was not usual of his behavior. LOL. I should've know then but I still had no clue.
Oh, and on the way to my car, he stopped to "put his wallet in his car"...seriously, I still had no idea.
So while I'm buckling in and about to tell him bye, he kneels down on one knee, and starts telling me all these sweet lovable things about us and me that he's been holding in all day.
I don't think I realized what was happening until he actually said the words, "Will you be my Wife?"
I know it sounds crazy that we got engaged at a Whataburger in Sugarland, Texas but it was PERFECT for us and our relationship!
God Bless Tuesday Nights and Whataburger!
Beautiful.
