Rookie 6 Yankees prep {team mom}

I volunteered to be the team mom for Colin's Rookie 6 Little League team.
(side note: Pete is the head coach).
This is not my first rodeo so I had a lot of great ideas racked up from passed seasons!

Team mom duties are both fun and time consuming...but I love every minute of it!

This might be one of my last seasons to volunteer because, if our plan works out, we will have a newborn on our hands next Spring!

One of the many duties for Mommy was to pick-up all of the team's uniforms, hats, and pre-order items, 1 DAY BEFORE THE 1st GAME, and pass them out to everyone. I should've taken a picture of my organized mess but I didn't. :( Each player had a large zip-lock bag with their name and uniform size on it. Then I placed each jersey, pants, hat, socks and other pre-ordered item inside each bag. All of this organizing made the drop-off much much MUCH easier and faster. The families appreciated that, since it was 8:00 PM on a school night. :o/

Each team was also responsible for creating a basket for the silent auction. The Yankees put together a BBQ Lovers Basket, complete with sauces, rubs, flavor chips, tools, an apron, a gift card, and some grill cleaner.
During our girls night, Lindsay helped me put it together. :)

Colin is very excited about being a Yankee! My Uncle Mike gave him a NY Yankees hat last summer while we were visiting in Buffalo and he has loved them ever sense!
The front of his helmet has the NY image on it. Pete found the stickers at Academy.

Eventhough we are playing on a true little league field with benches, the boys are only 5 and 6 years old and have trouble keeping their things together in the dug-out. My friend, Holly, told me about this wonderful idea... and Oh! How it has helped keep the dug-out organized and in tip-top shape! And, the kids have stopped asking "Where is my hat/glove/water...?"

I also put together an order for car decal stickers (through Brammer's Athletic Gear) and Yankees t-shirts (through universal t-shirts). Both turned out great!
(picture coming soon)
