Colin's Kinder Korner: Friendship Party

I remember Valentine's Day being one of the most fun holidays to celebrate at school. There is always a PARTY and it feels so nice to receive all those Valentine cards and treats from your friends! Colin's childhood is very much the same thus far. As soon as the letter came home in his folder to start preparing for Valentine's day, he was excited!

This year he chose Phineas and Ferb valentine cards. Each one came with a tattoo also. :)

One of the Valentine at home projects was to decorate an empty cereal box to use as the kid's card box. I really thought Colin would want to wrap his box in red and blue (his favorite colors) but he did want PINK...but only a little bit! He used stickers, markers, and glitter paint to decorate his box. And as Ava always does...she need paper, stickers, GLITTER and markers too!

Ava tried tracing her hand by herself, which didn't work out too well. When Daddy finished tracing her hand, this was her reaction...

Colin used then counted13 heart stickers, which happens to be his favorite number! He surprised himself with that!

The finished project - photo shoot.
{There are many more pictures but these are the "best" ones...}

On Valentine's Day, the SSE PTA sponsored a "Friendship Party" for the kids. They each got to decorate and eat a cookie, they received a jump rope and small beach balls as gifts and they put together a "Friendship Bear" with a lolli pop for the kids at the Children's Hospital.

Pete was able to attend the Friendship party and experience the craziness of a class party! Colin said he has fun put didn't feel like eating the cookie. LOL.

Colin gave Ms. Hlinak a Valentine's gift and she thanked Pete and Colin again and again at the party. She put the picture frame on display as you enter the classroom. :)

Hopefully Mommy will get to attend the Friendship party next year too. ;)

And for futher viewing pleasure...here is Ava enjoying her Valentine's treat bag ffrom Ms. Kendall's house!
