Ella Grace: {4 months old}

Seriously....where has time gone?! My 3 pound 15 ounce preemie baby is now 5 MONTHS OLD! (that post coming next)

Time can freeze now.

In the last month, Ella has learned how to smile and laugh!
The first time she truly smiled was one evening after bath. She was just relaxing in the rock-n-play while Ava finished her bath. I started talking and singing to her, then THIS happened!...

Her first laughs were because Daddy was tickling her... Talk about a heart melting moment...SO CUTE!

Ella still sleeps from 9PM - 6 or 7 AM. Mommy and Daddy are happy campers! Ava slept the same way until about 5 months old and decided she was going to wake up every morning at 5 and "need" a bottle. Hopefully Ella won't follow suite. During the day she takes a long nap in the late morning and again mid afternoon. Most of the time I can get both girls down AT THE SAME TIME! Amazing...I know! Then she will take a little cat nap after dinner.
Her pattern is eat, stay awake for an hour or so (depending on the time of day), then sleep until her next feeding time.

She is IN LOVE with her swing. And when she is sleeping, it MUST by moving. I think we need to own stock in D batteries.

She also likes her bouncer while she watches her sissy dance and/or watching nick jr. :)

She went in the pool for the first time on Father's day.

Ella went to her first Skeeters Game! (more on that later)

She still loves her baby gym and plays with her toys daily. She gets better and better at swinging her arms and kicking her feet to hit the toys. She can entertain herself for at least 10 minutes straight. :)
She has fully realized that she can control her hands and has a new trick! She can knock the ball off her bumbo seat! It's fun to watch her because you can tell she is thinking and trying really hard to get that ball!

She is getting chubbier by the day and I LOVE it!!!!

Ava's 1st hair cut!

Yes, you read that correctly...Ava's 1st hair cut was a week before her 3rd birthday!!
Mommy couldn't bare the thought of cutting her baby "blond curls"...

Ava did, however, give her bangs a little trim a few days before that...

She was SO EXCITED about her first hair cut! We had be telling her for days about it and that there are special big girl chairs to sit in and that they will play a movie for her to watch. There was a lot of "big girl" talk going around becuase of her BIG GIRL 3rd BIRTHDAY!

Here are a few before pictures of her scraggly, uneven, NEVER BEEN cut hair!

Do you like her shoe choice?...I sure do! ;)

When we walked in Pigtails and Crew Cuts, she made a beeline to the yellow taxi car. I thought we were going to have to convince or bribe her to get in a chair. It helped that we were the only people in the salon and all of the ladies were just dying over her cuteness! And, The Lorax was playing, which is one of her favorite movies right now!

Mommy had all the cameras going...video, phone and point & shoot!

Ava was so brave and did an amazing job getting her hair cut.
She didn't say a word the whole time and was very "serious", as the ladies put it.
It took us a few tries to get a photo of her at the end for her "First Hair Cut Card".

THE FIRST CUT!

We made it a family affair. :)

Here are a few after pictures of her freshly cut EVEN hair. ;)
Ava fell in love with the braid and requested one for several days in a row! She even needed to sleep with a braid.

tear!

We let Ava choose our lunch date and she said "chicken and oranges at buffalo wild wings", so off we went! However, she ended up ordering mini corn dogs. lol.

I'm sure we won't wait 3 more years until her next cut...
