Pete's 36th Birthday!

Birthdays are a week long event at our house!

My little assistant wanted to help me bake Daddy's cake!

The kids always like to decorate the house with balloons, ribbons and streamers until there are none left!

They each made Daddy a card with hearts, x's and o's, stickers and pictures!

The finished products...

I try...
Daddy is a lot better at cake decorating than me. :)

We celebrated Daddy's birthday right after school with gifts, cake and quesadilla dinner!

Ella's first taste of icing...she couldn't get enough!!!! If she doesn't already have enough "Willetts traits", here is another one!

Happy Birthday Honey...and many more!!!!

Colin's Baptism

God is so GREAT! He is almighty and deserves all of the praise for Colin being such an amazing young man. Who knew that the little chunky cheeked 18 month old, with 3 binkies (one in the mouth, and one in each hand) and lime green Diesel sneakers would (6 years later) be getting baptized and speaking the word of God to many. Words can NOT express to joy, gratitude and humbleness we have felt in the last few months.

Colin accepted Jesus into his heart during his Pine Cove camp this summer and has tried really hard to walk in Christ's light everyday since. That has got to be difficult as a kid, but he does it. He also attends a weekly bible study and LOVES it! Each week he has homework and a memory verse, he completes these with enjoyment and shares what he learns with us and Ava. :)

Colin started asking about baptism soon after his summer camp was over. There was an opportunity in September but the timing wasn't right for our family. We did attend a baptism conversation class at RPC and (once again) Colin blew me away. He was answering questions about why we get baptized and completely understood the story of Jesus' baptism and connections to our own lives.

Colin had begun to see God work in all ways, through music, his friends & family and in movies. I will never forget when we told me about the similarities in the SMURFS 2 movie and God's word/works. Seriously...AMAZING!

Our sweet and dear friend, Anne King baptised Colin. She has been a part of every major event in our life and we wouldn't have it any other way! She married us, dedicated our girls and is now baptizing our son. Anne has known Pete and I through thick and thin. We have laughed, cried, and worked side by side with Anne for years and couldn't do life without her!

Our family and best friends attended church with us and witnessed Colin's baptism. We are beyond blessed to have a support system for our kids!

I love seeing Pete's smile in the background of this picture! What a proud and precious moment!!!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

After his baptism, Colin wanted to immediately see his BFFs, sisters and Papa to give them hugs. :)  Carter, Susanna and Robert gave Colin a pocket cross and a beautiful wooden one for his bedroom. Carter had the same ones from his first confirmation. :)

sweet Sissy!

Then we took some time for family pictures...I wouldn't have it any other way!

We let Colin choose where he wanted to have his celebration lunch and he picked Lupe Tortilla! Our reservation was for 21 people...wow! To Colin's surprise, he got gifts from the family too:
money for his savings account from nonnie and papa chuck,
a baseball necklace (with his verse) and a journal from Aunt Nicki and Uncle Andres,
a t-shirt, bible cover and baseball-cross for his room from us
and a cross necklace from grandma and papa

Pete and I are beyond blessed to have such a son as Colin. I can't wait to see God's plan for his life and I know He will take Colin to GREAT places.
