Mitey Mite Texans {game 2}

Labor Day weekend was in between the first 2 games, so the boys got a little rest from football and school. :)

Our 2nd game was against the Cowboys. Colin was a little worried because last year's game against the Cowboys was not a fun one for him. He got hurt and kept getting out run by one their players "with long hair" (quote by Colin).

We encouraged him to try his best and to remember that he is wearing pads and a helmet now so he will be protected.

The Cowboys are a rough and tumble team but our Texans did an outstanding job!
We WON!!!!! 25 to 0!!!!
It must be that #13 on the defensive side! ;0)

I told Colin to show me his "Crush 'Em" face, and this is what I got!

On this kick off return, Colin ran super fast and RECOVERED THE BALL!

We are all really enjoying being on the KYF Texans! We have met some our best friends and are excited to see where his "football career" goes.

Mitey Mite Texans {game 1}

Colin is playing football again for the Katy Youth Football league.
This year, it's tackle. :0/ Mommy WAS NOT to excited about it but I guess it's what we have to do...we ARE playing KATY football, y'all!

The night before the first game, Colin was pumped to "crush" the Saints!!!!

We surprised the kids with a little first-game-eve gift and dessert.

Game #1:
8.25.12
Our first game was at 8 AM! You'd think that would be a good thing but our kids LOVE their sleep. So getting up, ready and out the door at 7 AM on a Saturday was not an easy task.

The boys played a GREAT game!!!!
Colin scored a touch down and an extra point.
He played both sides of the ball and made some pretty hard tackles!

The Texans WON!
18 to 6!

Papa Chuck's Birthday

Papa Chuck's birthday is always a fun one to celebrate!
There is NEVER a dull moment when he is around!

This year his birthday fell on a Friday so after school we went over for some pool time and a fun filled birthday evening.
Papa turned 65 this year and boy was it a GREAT day for him!

This kids helped him blow out his candles and open his gifts.

Colin always gets a kick out of the "guesses" that Papa has! LOL!

Ava was "taste testing" the Reeses cups for Papa...I'd say they were good to go...she did eat 5 of them :0/

Andrew surprised Dad with the best gift EVER!!!! New golf clubs!!!!
Dad has already purchased practice balls, tees and gloves to brush up his skills.
Andrew, Pete, and Papa can't wait to hit the course!

For my Dad's 59th birthday, my sisters and I gave him a poster with 59 reasons why we love him.
For his 60th, we added one more.
And this year, per his request, we went to 65. Truthfully, we could have thought of 65 MORE!
A lot of them are inside jokes from family vacations or just being "the raimondo's", and some are whole hearted, warm fuzzies.
All of the 65 reasons are a perfect reflection of Dad's quirky personality and loving heart!
