Spring Baseball 2013: {regular season}

So...I am VERY aware that baseball season ended over a month ago...we've been a little busy ;0)

 

 

This Spring, we were on the Yankees AGAIN! Colin was thrilled when Pete told him our team name. Unfortunately, Colin didn't get the number 13 again. But, hey, what's one season without your favorite number?

 

We started practices a few weeks before games started.

 

 

It was the rainy season so a few practices were indoors at The Zone (indoor batting cages and tunnels).

 

The games started on March 18 so Ella was able to participate too!

 

The first game was off to a rough start for Colin. He struck out then got out at 1st on his next at bat. He made up for those when he HIT A HOME RUN later in the game. He played 1st bade and helped his team win 9 to 6!

 

 

Ava was being a little ham, as usual!

 

The first weekend of the season, the Katy Pony Organization put on a "Sports Fest" to raise money for the seasons expenses.

 

We also had a game that day.

 

The rest of the season was FANTASTIC!

We only lost once and ended the regular season in FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!

Colin continued to play 1st base, every game, and hit 5 home runs throughout the season.

His defense is getting better and better every season. He chases infield fly and CATCHES them and has started diving for balls. :) And of course, he would slide into any base he could!

Ella's first game!!!

He brought them both bubbles and a baseball.

Yankees vs. Rangers!

Carter was on the Rangers this season so after our WIN, we went all went out for brunch.

We finished the season with a 10-1-1 record which was good enough for FIRST PLACE!

We had an end of season tournament and lost about half way through. :( Colin was pretty sad but he perked back up when we reminded him about the trophies for his regular season play and that he was called to try out for All Stars!
