Pumpkins, Spiders and Ghosts, OH MY!!!

Halloween is such a fun holiday to celebrate! We love all things pumpkin and take full advantage of the family time and making memories!

SPIDER HANDS

Ava, Ella and I created these precious Spider hands while the boys were out. When Colin came home, I asked if he wanted to make a spider but he only wanted to make a ghost foot! I didn't get any pictures of the "action" because I was by my self. Ella was grabbing the paint brush and it was a bit of a challenge to NOT get the paint everywhere.

So...here we have...
the spider sisters

Ava helped paint the web.

GHOST FEET

We have made it a yearly tradition to create ghost feet and this year we have 3 of them!!! Such a precious memory and keep sake!!! Whenever we paint the kids' feet they laugh hysterically because it tickles. They get that from me...my feet are so very ticklish!

PUMPKIN DECORATING
Colin's school library invited the students to decorate a pumpkin based on a character in a book. This was the first year Colin participated and, naturally, he chose to paint/decorate his pumpkin as JJ Watt from a Houston Texans (non-fiction) book he has.

Ava needed to paint a pumpkin too!

Ella is a pretty good supervisor.

After we went to Dewberry Farms, the kids wanted to decorate their pumpkins. Aunt Gina was staying with us for a few days and was a tremendous help!

Halloween 2013

Family Flashback
2008

2009

Before we went trick-or-treating, we ate a pizza dinner, "pumpkin" cake and gave the kids their traditional Halloween gifts. :)

They got Halloween coloring books, slap bracelets, glow in the dark wands & necklaces, Colin got a Texans dog tag, Ava & Ella got Ariel & Cinderella cars.

Nonnie sewed both Ella and Ava's Rapunzel dresses!
And the kids' treat bags!
(the girls' have matching bags.)

Every year we try and "match" the kids with our costumes. This year...we didn't make it happen. :(
I wasn't going to walk around in a princess outfit and Colin asked Pete to wear his Chewbacca shirt!

Aunt Gina came with us and was a tremendous help!!! The kids loved having her with us and so did Mommy.  :) We should have her move in so each kid has their own adult...HA!
Nonnie and Papa were in Buffalo spending time with our family...more on that soon...and we MISSED THEM SO MUCH. They were so sad to miss Ella's first Halloween but we are very thankful for technology and face time!!!!

We loved having our Little Angel Baby dress up as Rapunzel!!!!
Happy 1st Halloween Ella Grace!
(8 months old)

Pumpkin Carving 2013

Family Flashback
Which all made me cry, BTW...

The kids each had their own pumpkin this year, again. But Colin didn't want the traditional triangle nose and eyes...he wanted the fancy tracer pages. We found and bought a Houston Texans (naturally) tracer and he chose the helmet design. Ava wanted Tinker Bell and I tried my best but it was just too hard so we went with a "heart princess" pumpkin.

Both of the kids wanted to help with their own pumpkins...all parts. Pete and I had to convince them that the carving part was dangerous...even though they know and understand knives are dangerous, we still needed to teach/remind them again. Colin more so than Ava...he thinks he is big now...??

The pumpkins started to rot before we took a picture will the 3 kids. :(
Even though the pumpkins were disgusting, I wanted a traditional picture by our front door, so while Pete and Colin were at practice I snagged a quick pic of the girls.

Ava wanted to use the seeds so we came up with this. :)
We saved seeds for Bubby too but her never got around to making his name.

Round 2...we carved more pumpkins so we could have jack-o-lanterns ON Halloween!
Meet, Heart Princess #2 and CJ Crusher

Hope all of your Pumpkin Carving dreams came true this year!
