Pine Cove

Colin attended a Pine Cove Christian Camp this summer with 2 of his best friends, Aidan and Cooper.
It was a week long camp, from 9-4 everyday, hosted at a church that is right around the corner from our house. We showed him some video clips and pictures from their website, and he was PUMPED to spend the week Living for God and having a blast while doing it.

When we drove in each day, the counselors where cheering and jumping around "Welcoming us Back to Camp"! They water slides and obstacle courses were set up all over the church campus.

The morning of the last day of camp, Colin lost ANOTHER tooth. He wanted me to take his picture and send it to Ms. Jodi (A and C's mom) to show his friends. He also said he was going to tell "Thin Ice" (his counselor)! So sweet!

Colin's "cabin!"

On the last day of camp, the parents were invited to attend Club! Pete and I got a front row seat!

After club, the counselors gave a little presentation to showcase each child's character traits.
It was such a special moment for us as a family and we were happy to share it with some of our best friends!

Thin Ice was talking with them about being Men of God and that he has high hopes and prayers for them.
Talk about a proud (teary eyed) moment!

It was really bright outside...

The boys had the time of their lives and can't wait to go back next summer.

On the car ride home, Colin told us that he gave his life to Jesus Christ and let HIM into his heart!!!!!
What an amazing prayer that has been answered! God is so good and we are so humbled by the conversations we've had with Colin since then and that he is willing and ready to learn all there is to know about his Lord and Savior.

We bought Colin an Adventure Bible and read through it often. We say bedtime prayers now every night and he went to his first kids bible study class last Wednesday.

And the most exciting news of all, Colin has decided to get baptised!!!!
Good is good, all the time!

Summer Camp 2013: {football camp}

Colin's heart is with baseball but he still wanted to play football in the fall so....
here we go again!

He attended 2 different football camps over the summer.
The first one was hosted by Brian Cushing from the Houston Texans!
Colin was so pumped about this 2 day camp and to meet one of his favorites!

Brian is in the top right corner in a green shirt.

The first day the kids had an opportunity to take pictures with BC! SO AWESOME!

The 2nd day, BC signed autographs. Colin made out really well!!!!

Brian Cushing and TJ Yates!

KYF put on a "full contact" camp in the afternoon at a local high school. The girls and I went to watch a few of the days. Daddy went everyday to support and look after Bubby.

nice shoes...

Football season is SO HOT and feels FOREVER long but we do it for Colin, not ourselves!
GO TEXANS!

summer fun 2013: {the houston zoo}

My kids LOVE the zoo and I took the girls in late April with Nonnie.

We wanted to visit the animals again so Jessica, Jenny and I took my girls in July. It stormed the whole drive in so we were nervous we wouldn't be able to stay. It turned out to be a great day because it wasn't crowded or hot!

Love my beauties in their matching Flamingo outfits!

Ava wanted to take another swing by the elephants on our way out. We happen to catch a little presentation from the zoo keepers about feeding the elephants and cleaning their "shoes".

Why does my daughter like reptiles?!...

Mommy treated Ava and Colin to 2 new "tiger" pets!

Colin was finally able to come with us to the zoo in August. He was very busy with camps and other activities during the other 2 months of the summer. He loved it just as much as Ava.

The sea lion habitat is finally finished!

Colin took 100s of pictures on his iTouch too!

seriously...a chicken?!

too bad they wouldn't turn around so I could get pictures of their smiles and not their back sides. LOL

We went through the Lego Exhibit and it was absolutely AMAZING! We couldn't believe how real these structures looked! There were signs displayed with how many bricks were in each structure and how many hours they took to build. WHO HAS THAT KIND OF TIME?! I know my kids like Lego's but, dang?!

Ava liked the Lego's but was being moody when it came to taking pictures. Did I mention she is 3?...

Next stop on the map was the children's zoo!

Our family's favorite zoo animal are the giraffes.

What a difference a couple of months make...Ella was wearing this same outfit when I took her in April.

Watch out!

We got there just in time feed them.
Brace yourself...these pictures are HILARIOUS!

Ava told me to feed her leaf to the "baby" giraffe...

And I would feed my leaf to the "Mama"...

Mama giraffe was hungry...

Ava was SCREAMING and shaking when the "Mama" giraffe stole her lettuce leaf. I am so glad we had the camera rolling because those pictures are priceless!

The zoo keepers gave me an extra leaf because they thought Ava was upset that SHE didn't feed the giraffe. That was not the case at all...she was terrified!
So Ella had a turn too!

Carousel time!

The chimps were very entertaining as usual!
Ava stole the camera and took several pictures of the silly guys!

There will be a huge gorilla habitat in 2015! We are excited about that too! We miss that stinky guy.

I believe we have pictures of my sisters and I like this!

Again...why does my daughter like snakes and reptiles?!

We should have a membership to the Houston Zoo but we can't get there during the school year. It's too difficult with school and sports.
