Pine Cove

Colin attended a Pine Cove Christian Camp this summer with 2 of his best friends, Aidan and Cooper.
It was a week long camp, from 9-4 everyday, hosted at a church that is right around the corner from our house. We showed him some video clips and pictures from their website, and he was PUMPED to spend the week Living for God and having a blast while doing it.

When we drove in each day, the counselors where cheering and jumping around "Welcoming us Back to Camp"! They water slides and obstacle courses were set up all over the church campus.

The morning of the last day of camp, Colin lost ANOTHER tooth. He wanted me to take his picture and send it to Ms. Jodi (A and C's mom) to show his friends. He also said he was going to tell "Thin Ice" (his counselor)! So sweet!

Colin's "cabin!"

On the last day of camp, the parents were invited to attend Club! Pete and I got a front row seat!

After club, the counselors gave a little presentation to showcase each child's character traits.
It was such a special moment for us as a family and we were happy to share it with some of our best friends!

Thin Ice was talking with them about being Men of God and that he has high hopes and prayers for them.
Talk about a proud (teary eyed) moment!

It was really bright outside...

The boys had the time of their lives and can't wait to go back next summer.

On the car ride home, Colin told us that he gave his life to Jesus Christ and let HIM into his heart!!!!!
What an amazing prayer that has been answered! God is so good and we are so humbled by the conversations we've had with Colin since then and that he is willing and ready to learn all there is to know about his Lord and Savior.

We bought Colin an Adventure Bible and read through it often. We say bedtime prayers now every night and he went to his first kids bible study class last Wednesday.

And the most exciting news of all, Colin has decided to get baptised!!!!
Good is good, all the time!

Summer Fun 2013: {a mini beach vacation}

In July, Pete and I went on our FIRST TRIP EVER away from the girls, over night!
I have never left Ava over night, other than when I was in the hospital for Ella's birth.
We were WAY over due!

This is when we dropped the girls with Nonnie and Papa for the weekend. They stayed over night at our house so the girls would have their regular routines but played at Nonnie's during the day.

During a school fundraiser last year we (our wolf pack) won a silent auction bid on a beach house on Crystal beach. We were counting down the days to our little get away and O.M.G. was it SO MUCH FUN!!! We are planning our next summer trip already, this WILL be a yearly vaca!

Before we kit the road, we stopped at a local liquor store to get the goods...

A few minutes after we left, Nonnie sent us this picture of them in Ava's new hats!

On the ferry!

Yes, we bought new beach hats just for our trip!

Everyone was already at the house for a few hours when we got there because Pete had to work, it was a Friday. That night was a late one and we all had an awesome time laughing and spending quality time together...without the kids...

We went to the beach the next morning and set up shop.

The men spent a lot of time in the ocean and the woman enjoyed the sun and RELAXING with our magazines and music!

Both nights, we ate like kings and queens. Matt, Michael and the ladies prepared some yummy meals! Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, Matt's famous beans, dips, sides, and desserts!

We face timed with the girls before dinner on Saturday night.
Ava loved talking with us and told us about all the fun things she was doing with her Nonnie and Papa. She didn't seem to miss us one bit. :( Before Pete and I left for our trip, we told her several times that we would be gone for a few days and that Nonnie and Papa were going to have a sleep over and play with them for 2 WHOLE days! She was excited and didn't ask for us at all!

Saturday night was a little laid back...
still had a great time chillin' on the porch listening to music and just being ourselves!

This is the house we stayed it!
It was perfect, everyone had their own rooms and we had plenty of space in the kitchen and living room. We can't wait to go back! Oh, and we were in walking distance from the beach. :)

When we picked up the girls on Sunday, they would leave my side!
I missed them dearly!!!!

We bought each of the kids a Crystal beach t-shirt and they all wore them a few days later.
Colin is acting like a shark...

The trip was fantastic and exactly what we needed!
Can't wait for next summer!

Summer Camp 2013: {football camp}

Colin's heart is with baseball but he still wanted to play football in the fall so....
here we go again!

He attended 2 different football camps over the summer.
The first one was hosted by Brian Cushing from the Houston Texans!
Colin was so pumped about this 2 day camp and to meet one of his favorites!

Brian is in the top right corner in a green shirt.

The first day the kids had an opportunity to take pictures with BC! SO AWESOME!

The 2nd day, BC signed autographs. Colin made out really well!!!!

Brian Cushing and TJ Yates!

KYF put on a "full contact" camp in the afternoon at a local high school. The girls and I went to watch a few of the days. Daddy went everyday to support and look after Bubby.

nice shoes...

Football season is SO HOT and feels FOREVER long but we do it for Colin, not ourselves!
GO TEXANS!
